An AI Tutor Beat the Lecture Hall in Anatomy. One College, One Semester.
Nursing students who studied with a digital tutor and a knowledge graph scored higher than classmates taught the usual way, but the study ran at a single Chinese college and never checked whether the tutor’s answers were correct.

At Cangzhou Medical College, in Hebei Province, China, 362 first-year nursing students started the same anatomy course for 16 weeks, four class hours a week. In the end, 301 finished the study and were included in the final analysis. All of them followed the same lesson plan. The only difference was the tools. One group studied with a digital tutor built on generative AI, linked to a knowledge graph, a map that shows how facts connect. One group got the same knowledge graph, but their teachers gave the tutoring. One group sat through ordinary lectures, slides and plastic models.
