A Chatbot Sounds Friendly. On Reddit, People Shared Their Own Stories.
In a comparison of AI and human replies to 24,114 mental health posts, the AI wrote longer, clearer and more encouraging answers, but it had no life story to draw on and its answers did not fit each person's situation well.

You type a private worry into a chatbot at two in the morning. It answers in seconds. This study asked how much that answer resembles the answer a person would get from strangers on Reddit.
