Among 1,805 US adults aged 18 to 49, asked in October 2025, 35.2 percent said they used generative AI tools or chatbots at least once a week to discuss or manage mental health concerns. One in twenty — 5.5 percent — were counted as heavy users: people who said they regularly spend hours talking through their mental health with AI.
